How do Shopify calculate tax for each US state? and how frequently is it updated?

Hello everyone, 

So I know that sales taxes for each US states are updated on Shopify but I wanted to know how are they calculated and how frequently are they updated?

Shopify uses Avalara tax to automatically set sales tax rates at checkout.  That is one of the big reasons to use a platform like Shopify for your ecommerce.  It's fully automated so you don't have to worry about it.
