That would depend on what your accountant is requesting. Did they provide you a list of what they need?

Hi @Hanna8

There's plenty of information that can be obtained from your Shopify Analytics, so as @CloudlabSam  correctly points out, you will need to know exactly what it is your accountant requires from you in order to dig out the relevant information.

Do you simply need to provide your accountant with a history of the number of sales you made over the past 12 months? Or did your products have cost recorded at the time they were sold? In which case you might want to pull a report of your profit by product.

If you let me know more specifically what it is you're looking for, I can help you obtain as much information as possible!

Meanwhile, how are you gearing up to make even more sales? Do you have any strategies in place for the busiest time of the year?

I need a report with every buy and then put it in my accounting system for
taxes and so on.

Ok, excellent - well you can see from the guide I linked you to which reports are available to you and on which plans.

You may be especially interested in the Finance reports, in particular, the Sales finance report which includes the values that you'll most likely need when doing your bookkeeping, such as net sales. The report shows each sale and return that your store made during the selected timeframe, organized by date.

Hi there!

I've finished up the bookkeeping for my sales in Shopify and I've noticed
that the total for sales, tax and total differs and how it's reported in
the excel report I exported from Shopify.

*Example 1:*

The tax is not deducted at all? Which means that the total of sales
2021-12-20 will be in plus. Shouldn't it deduct 25% tax from 505 kr?

Otherwise when the sale is first made from the beginning we earn tax and
it adds to the total. When/if later someone makes a return the tax is
supposed to be deducted.

*Example 2:*

If you see here there is tax 25% 199 kr
But in the sales report that I exported to excel it shows the return with 0
kr in taxes. Shouldn't it be an amount in minus there? If the excel report
did the same thing for each return I would had understood it better but it
shows up differently. See image below.

I also attached the Excel I used so you can see how it was used. Because if
a return deducts the sales total, but doesn't deducts the tax total it's
not correct when we make the balancing of the books and the tax reports.

I hope it made some sense, it's not often I discuss book keeping in English
🙂

Hi @Hanna8

It is difficult to fully understand your reply as the images have not been uploaded. Could you try either inserting the screenshots or uploading them as attachments please:

Have you been using the Taxes finance report?

I completely understand your English, so don't worry about that too much! But for clarity, I would definitely appreciate a few more visual examples too.
