Financing, tax rates, and accounting
I sold my Shopify store in 2021. I got a letter today stating that I owe the IRS $18k because I didn’t notify them of the $44k in SHOPIFY PAYMENTS I made on the boutique in 2022. I did NOT own it then. I called my accountant and they’ve stated the 1099K was filed under my SSN and they’ve asked me to get documentation to submit to the IRS. I have no way to access the store. I cannot get help from anyone at Shopify, I’ve been trying for over 2 hours and can’t even get a chat started.
Hi @Lyss53setl
Thank you for reaching out about this and sharing those details. I understand how important it is to get this resolved. To connect with our authenticated support please open the AI chat in the Help Center and type "can't login" (if you don't have an account) to get connected. It is better if you are able to sign into your preexisting account for verification purposes, but it's alright if you aren't able to do so right now.
