Financing, tax rates, and accounting
Hi Everyone,
I’m experiencing an issue with tax calculations in Shopify. While setting up taxes for Belgium, France, and the Netherlands, I noticed that taxes are not being applied for France and the Netherlands, whereas Belgium is working correctly.
Could you please help resolve this issue?

Hi @techcure
Since Belgium’s taxes are applying correctly but France and the Netherlands aren’t, it’s likely a setup issue in your Shopify tax settings. Belgium might be properly configured while the others aren’t. Head to your Shopify admin under Settings > Taxes and Duties, and check the “European Union” section to ensure you’ve selected “Collect VAT” and entered your VAT registration details for France (20%) and the Netherlands (21%) alongside Belgium (21%)
f you’re using the One-Stop Shop (OSS) scheme, double-check that it’s activated and includes all three countries, as missing mappings could skip those regions. Also, confirm your shipping zones cover France and the Netherlands, since tax rules tie into delivery locations. Test a sample order to each country after tweaking the settings, and if it’s still off, let’s dig deeper
Hope this helps 🙂
