Financing, tax rates, and accounting
Hi,
Just wanted a quick overview on taxes.
If I ship worldwide from US, do I have to set up taxes in every country I deliver to?
If I ship only in the US from US, do I set up sales tax only in my state (where I am registered)
Please clear this out for me. Thank you.
This is more of a question to an accountant / legal team as it really depends on how your business is structured & registered.
Generally, if your business is only registered and operated in the USA only, but you had an online order from the customer outside the USA, you do not charge taxes. But you do have to supply a declaration form when shipping the item.
For guidance pertaining to within-the-country orders, contact an accounting / legal firm. This is a tech forum, we cannot provide such advice.
