Need Correct Inventory Reporting

I recently discovered that the Month-End Inventory and Inventory Snapshot reports in analytics are incorrect.   Shopify support confirmed that the reports would not include any inventory that has never been sold.    This is a huge problem when trying to produce financials and for tax reporting so I was wondering if anybody else who has noticed this has a work-around?
