EDIT: I solved the issue myself in just a few minutes with this topic that I found on this board: https://community.shopify.com/c/accounting-and-taxes/how-to-change-tax-rate-on-shopify-23-to-13/td-p...

Basically I added the other product to the same collection as the product that worked fine, and that solved the issue. WOW! I can't believe I spent hours talking to support over several days and I fixed it by myself in a matter of minutes by this forum. Shopify tax support is absolutely useless. If any Shopify support agent reads this, please fix your support team to deal with this easier/faster....

Hi everyone,

I have a strange issue on my shop ( www.beautyofthenetherlands.com ). I only have 2 products. One works fine regarding tax, but the other one does not. I have been contacting Shopify support for a week, but they can't seem to fix my issue:

I just want 9% tax on my whole store, as it's a book and living in the Netherlands, books are taxed 9%. I set this up in the tax settings, with my Dutch Tax registration and 9% override on all of the EU (including NL).

I have 2 products in my store:

- book with print - 9% tax works fine there on checkout

- book only - gets taxed 21% on checkout in NL and EU (??? Why????)

I cannot understand why everything just works fine on the 1 product, and not on the other!? It's not like I setup anything specific for this other product. Tax is set globally and should affect all products, no? I am lost.

Meanwhile people keep ordering in my store and getting the wrong VAT invoices in the EU and NL. Any help would be extremely appreciated as Shopify support is useless in this case.

Thanks everyone!
