How do I create quarterly sales reports by state in Shopify Basic plan? Is it possible?

Hi there,

Shopify does not have any customizable Sales reports on the Basic version.

Hi there - thanks for trying Report Toaster. This post was from April of last year. The tax reports were since added to the premium version of our app. We'd be glad to help you get what you need if you'd like to upgrade.

I understand how valuable these reports would be for your business, however, the Shopify Starter/Basic plan does not feature sales reports. You can access different types of reports depending on your store's Shopify subscription plan. With that being said, here are a few workarounds:

1. Use a third-party app: There are many apps available in the Shopify App Store that can generate sales reports by state. Some of these apps are free, while others require a monthly subscription.

2. Export data to Excel: You can export your sales data into a CSV file and import it into Excel, where you can sort and filter by state manually. This method may be time-consuming but does not require any programming knowledge.

We are required to file a quarterly sales and tax report in Washington State.  We are a very small business and shopify already takes a good chunk of our revenue, I need a free app that will generate these reports.  I was able to do that with the 3D cart system, I pay more for Shopify so having the ability to run a simple report that shows sales by tax code in Washington state should be a very basic function.
