Sales Tax and Shopify Collective Payments?

How is sales tax handled when a sale is made via Shopify Collective? Does the supplier or retailer pay the sales tax? It appears that the automatic payments transfer the funds for solely the products sold, not the fees or tax associated with the transaction.
