Our company captures 95% of sales using CartHook Checkout. At the moment we have nexus in Colorado only. When I run the sales tax report by Sales Channel, Specifically CartHook Checkout, I only see a generic description of Tax in the "Name" column and a gross tax rate percentage under "Rate" that is different for each transaction. Most likely due to different locality taxes. Shopify Settings are set to "calculate automatically" and the tax source is set to destination. Does anyone know of a solution or report that breaks out the CartHook Taxes by tax jursidiction/locality? I am posting the sales tax report generated by shopify below.
You can pull these orders into either TaxJar or Avatax, and each will give you a home rule report.
Hopefully you have obtained a sales tax license for each of these jurisdictions before you started collecting.
Collecting without a sales tax license in hand is illegal in all states.
Simple; obtain either a TaxJar or Avatax subscription, then connect to Shopify pull in everything, then review your reports.
Shopify Plus includes Avatax with that subscription level.
When you connect from the Taxjar or Avatax side, they connect to all versions.
