Financing, tax rates, and accounting
I'm 17 and want to start selling using Shopify. My parents created and manage my shopify account for me. I'll be using one of my mom's bank accounts. I saw that since I'll be using her name and bank account it will affect her taxes? Is there a way to avoid that? I've applied for a tax ID for my business. Location: North Carolina.
Hey, @jadealdrich.
Elias here with Shopify Support. That's a great question!
I'd recommend speaking with a tax advisor, as we aren't able to provide that level of legal advice. With varying tax regulations across the US, it's best to find a local tax advisor in your area. You can also review our Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy with your advisor to help determine the best course of action in this case.
I hope this helps point you in the right direction. If you have any other questions on this topic, don't hesitate to let us know!
