Shopify autom. collecting US taxes for EU business

Hi,

Our store is located in the Netherlands (EU) and we don't have any nexus to the US. But on a recent sale to a customer in Florida, Shopify automatically collected 2 types of local tax. Florida State Tax and Palm Beach County Tax.

Just for clarity, we have set Shopify to not collect tax in the US.

What is happening?

That order seems to be through the Shop Channel and therefore it collects taxes automatically in the US. That change took place in 1st of January 2025.
