Nick here from Shopify. 

This is something which is possible to do but does require some changes to the code on your store. Shopify does have a tutorial on this going through the steps for how to do it, but just to note the tutorial is not supported by Shopify. Because of this, if you are not comfortable making the changes your best bet would be to reach out to a Shopify Expert directly for help with it. and how to add seperate line for vat in the cart?

this should be a standard if you offer this kind of software

Hi there, 

There are a couple of different ways to add VAT to the cart itself.  It can be done with liquid- by capturing the value of the order, then using math filters to calculate the vat and display it. For help with the math filters, Shopify has a helpful guide for them which you can find here. As I mentioned in my original response, if this is something you are not comfortable with, your best bet would be to reach out to a Shopify Expert for help with it. 

I did some further digging for you on this and did find an app which might do the trick for you also. It's called Exemptify and enables you to show VAT on the cart as seen in their example below:
