Hello,

I already have EIN number but I can't find information how to set up my taxes.

Do I need my use my business card? When I choose "Include tax in prices", the price has not changed. I'm so confused.

Do I need to use my EIN number or Sales tax ID (I don't have one)

I will really appreciate any help you can provide! Thank you

Hi @Nazarii1,

Thanks for getting in touch. Presuming you are in the United States, you can follow the instructions here on setting up your taxes as an American-based merchant. I'd also recommend reading our page on registration-based taxes in the United States for more information.

Can you tell me which state you are based in? If you're just starting out, you'll likely only be required to register for sales tax in that state, as that's likely the only state where you have a tax nexus. However, if you are unsure of your tax obligations, we would always remember speaking to a tax professional to help you confirm this.

In terms of including tax in your prices, this will not change your product prices. Rather, it will tell the system whether or not the prices you have listed include taxes or not. If you enable this option, no additional tax will be added to this price at checkout. If you are based in the US I would recommend not enabling this option as sales tax is generally added at checkout and these taxes are not included in listed product prices.

I hope this helps, but let me know if you have further questions.
