Tax setup for Canadian wineries

Hi,

Does anyone have a solution for Ontario/Canada wineries on how to setup system to handle tax included and exclude (ie need to be added) problem?

We have to display our prices with all taxes included for wine products (ie $50 price displayed on web/pos has 5.75$ + 44.25$ base price).  For all other products, like t-shirt, glass, services etc, displayed price has to be base price and tax need to be added at checkout (ie $20 price dispalted for a t-shirt, is just base price and tax of 2.26$ need to be added at checkout).

Shopify can handle either sitution by design but we could not find any solution to handle both at the same time.  Shopify's suggestion are not market, customer frinedly (like display all products with tax or without tax).  They also suggested a number of apps like avalare, but these are USA driven apps to handle different states asking diiferent tax rates.

Our problem is to find a systematic solution to 2 items that must be displayed with or without tax by regulations to be supported.

Anyone out there has any suggestion

Hi @turkmen,

From my understanding for wine products tax needs to be included in the display price and with your current settings having a default price of $50 will re-calculate tax at checkout. To solve for this the price in Admin should be $44.25 then you can use two different product page templates. One for wine that takes the before tax price and calculates the tax then displays it showing $50. The other template use it for everything else.

Just to recap: duplicate your product page template for tax-included. This would be a customization that changes the price on the front-end, not anything happening on checkout.
