Financing, tax rates, and accounting
Hello,
We are a shop located in the Netherlands, there for we collect TAXES in the EU. We got VAT collection enabled for the EU in shopify.
For all other countries outside the EU, we do not have it enabled.
So people from outside the EU, see completely different prices then people within the EU due to TAXES.
But somehow, people from some countries get to see "Taxes included" while the price is still the excluding VAT price.
We don't understand why this is happening. For example, for people in the US it works properly.
But for people in the UK, they see "including Taxes" but see the excluding tax Price
So I clicked through the countries and this seems to be happening with more countries. For example Brazil.
But we did not enable TAX collection for these countries.
Can some one please help me out?
Regards,
Bolsjans
Hi @Bolsjans
This might be as a result of Shopify's region-based tax display default. Depending on how you set up your prices, Shopify's backend may also show "Taxes included" even if VAT isn't collected in some countries. Try selecting "Include vs. exclude tax based on your customer's country" under Settings > Taxes and Duties.
