Financing, tax rates, and accounting
My shop is not charging tax to out of state customers how can I fix this? I have a tax ID that is registered and setup in my state only. As far as I understood I didn’t need to register in every state in order to sell products from my home state to people out of state?
Any help I can get is greatly appreciated.
Hey @Mgildark! Thanks for reaching out to the Shopify community.
I won't be able to see the exact reason your store is not charging taxes out of state, but you can go over this help doc that shows all the steps on how to set up your taxes. Go through all the steps and make sure all the necessary boxes are checked off.
If you've gone through all the steps and everything looks good but your store is still not charging taxes, then you will want to contact our support team. They will be able to access your account and see if there is something preventing this from happening.
