Financing, tax rates, and accounting
Hi,
We set Tax as Collecting in the UK as we'll add taxes to our products.
but the supposed 'tax' added doesn't appear after clicking the Buy button.
What should we do?
(our store is not live yet)

Hi @jgelicame,
Thank you for getting in touch. Is this something you're seeing in an order you've placed on the store, or just when you head to the checkout yourself and look for the tax?
You'll want to ensure that you have your products set to be taxable, otherwise no taxes will be charged at checkout even though you are set up to collect VAT in the UK. You can see this option when you go to edit a product or variant in the Products section of the Shopify admin:
Please also be aware that when you set product prices to include taxes—which you likely will want to do as you're in the UK—then the tax will be included in the price you've set for your products, and will not be added on at checkout. This means that a £100 product with a tax rate of 20% will not cost £120 at checkout (100 x 1.20 = £120), but will instead still cost £100 with the 20% rate included (83.33 x 1.20 = £100) and the amount of tax being £16.67.
I hope this helps but please let me know if you are still not seeing VAT applied at checkout.
