The use of Shopify reports and simple analytic data disconnect

Hello, I am disappointed in the new format of Shopify reports in analytics. It seems there is computer code that needs to be altered to conduct a simple search. Example: using the report total sales by product.

I cannot see an easy way to isolate 1 item in the report if I only want sales info on one product title.

Conversely, if I use the web version of Shopify admin, if I search a single product title, when I enter the listing (where I can alter quantities, price and so on), down the right hand side of the listing shows sales, units and dollar totals for sales in the last 90 days.

1. Can you offer an easy way to sort the report by any of the individual headings (product title, vendor, title, etc...). This used to be much easier both on the web and app versions prior to the new analytic versions being offered.

2. The last 90 days sales feature inside web based product listings - can you simply make that available on the app also?

Hi @MarkM56

Claudia here from Better Reports!

I wanted to share a helpful resource that Shopify has published to guide merchants on using the new ShopifyQL query editor for reporting. You can find the documentation here - https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/reports-and-analytics/shopify-reports/report-types/reports-overvi...

If you’re looking for more advanced or customized reporting options, feel free to explore what we offer 🙂

I hope this helps!

@MarkM56, Don't worry about the SQL code—it appears automatically when you add fields from to the report.

To sort by product title, open Sales by Product, set the date range to Last 90 Days, then apply a filter for the specific product title to view its data. To filter by variants, click the dropdown on the Product Title , select the Variant Tag, and apply the desired filter. It's quite straightforward.
