Financing, tax rates, and accounting
Hi all,
We just launched our store and are in the process of shipping our first production run to our fulfillment centres in Australia, the US, the UK and Canada.
Our accounting platform is Xero, which we link to our Shopify store via A2X.
Our accountant has advised us that the only way to accurately track our landed costs is for each of our products to have a location-specific SKU. So for example, Product A would have a different SKU for the US, Australia, Canada and the UK, and then more as we grow our fulfillment network.
This seems crazy to us and would create more problems than it solves. To begin with, we don't even know how you could list the same product on your shopify store with a different SKU based on where the customer lives, without actually having a different store for each market.
Has anyone else encountered this? We would love to get some advice on how to resolve this issue.
Thanks!
