Financing, tax rates, and accounting
We've used Shopify as a webstore for a decade+ and at the turn of the year flipped over to your POS and left Square. As I understood it your automatic tax function works when it's calculating tax for a street level address. Our store doesn't move but it's being counted against the $100k of calculable orders. At this rate we'll end up paying you an addition +/- $300 over the year.
I understand if the order is being shipped and you're trying to calculate something based off that but if there is no work involved for processing our storefront then it shouldn't be counted against that total.
Can I turn off whatever or however this counts for the POS?
Is this how it's supposed to operate?
It looks like Shopify currently has no way to segregate tax functions for POS users and Web users. Until this is fixed I'm downgrading because it makes no sense when the bulk of our sales come from our brick and mortar.
Please have the option to exclude the POS from your Shopify tax service. It's ridiculous to be calculating anything special on something static like this.
