Where is my sales tax ID?

I don't know where my sales tax ID number is. I registered my business with the state and paid my fee but I never got anything called a "sales tax ID." Does every state have a different name for this number? If so, what are the other names? I can't really find any good information on this anywhere.

Also just found out that I need to register with every states' tax department to collect taxes there 😕 Wish there was an easier way to do it.

A sales tax ID should be provided to you by the local tax authorities when you successfully register for sales tax in a state. Can you tell me which state you registered with for tax purposes? I presume this is the state you and your business primarily are based in.

As mentioned by @Anindita, our guide on registration-based taxes in the United States should offer more information on when and how you need to register for sales tax. Please bear in mind that you likely do not need to register for sales tax in every state you sell to, but rather for states where you are deemed to have a tax nexus. Tax nexuses can be both physical and economic. More information on this can be found on our page concerning US tax liabilities.
