Financing, tax rates, and accounting
We created an in-house order this morning and the taxes are not being added into the Total. You can see on the screenshot below.
Does anyone have any insight into why this is not incorporating?
Thank you,
TD

Hi, @TDWisco!
May here from Shopify. Welcome to our Shopify Community!
Thank you for attaching a screenshot. That is very helpful! It looks like you might have set up your taxes to be included in your product prices. In this case, the total price of $945 is already including taxes. As seen on the screenshot, there is a state tax for $44.79 and county tax for $4.48, so this means that your product prices before tax is $945 - $44.79 - $4.48 = $895.73.
If you did not mean to do this, you can change your tax setting by following the steps below or in this document.
1. From your admin, go to 'Settings > Taxes'.
2. Under 'Tax calculations', uncheck 'Show all prices with tax included'.
3. Click 'Save'.
After saving, when your customer place a new order or if you place a new test order, you should see the invoice with prices before and after taxes.
Let me know if this helps! If you have any other questions, please let me know and I'll be more than happy to help!.
Cheers!

Thank you so much for your assistance.

My question was a bit different but the solution worked for me. I too had to un-check the box that said show prices with tax included.
Hi May, I am having the same problem with the est. tax showing but not being added into the total. I tried the solution you recommended but no change. I tried refreshing, logging in/out, double-checked that the "show all prices with tax included" button was unchecked. No luck, advice? Thanks.
I have the same issue and it's maddening. Here is my current setting and a sales notification I received this morning.(Sorry for the french interface)
