Why are there duplicate entries in my total sales report for returns?

I am getting duplicate entries on our Total Sales Report for returns - this appears to be new and totally random, not on every return... I have to go in and double check to make sure each one is not actually being deducted from our payout each time which is very time consuming. Is there a bug or are we doing something wrong?

We also noticed this also- its almost like every item on the order is being reported as being returned and then the items not in the return are being re-added. Which means its much harder to see the actual returns especially if you pulling the data into a csv.

Apparently this is a 'work around' for them but an accounting PITA... They
did say there was a different report that shows things better for the
actual accounting but I still use this and just delete out the lines I
don't need...my *own* 'work around' 😅
