Why doesn't my EIN match with the IRS on my tax information?

I continue to get a notification saying that my tax information does not match with the IRS but I am literally looking at my EIN paperwork from the IRS and putting it in exactly as it says on this paperwork. There is no contact information for this company and had I known that I would not be able to contact someone when I have issues, I would never have paid for this product. As it stands, I am currently thinking of shutting down this website and starting all over from scratch.

If Tax ID in your Shopify Payments account does not match the information from the IRS then this error would be produced. It is also possible that old or previous information entered is being used to compare the data, as opposed to any updates that have been made since then.
