Financing, tax rates, and accounting
I see that customers and orders have a timeline feature so we can track events. In QBPOS, being able to look at the history of a particular item is an important tool for us - to see receiving, sales, and adjustments in one place helps us track issues with inventory and helps us track when an item was last ordered all in one place. Super helpful for in person retail functions
Hi, @DaphneOlive.
Thanks for posting your question to the community.
I can definitely understand the importance of having this feature for better visibility over the areas you mentioned and to more easily track inventory issues.
I've gone ahead to submit your feedback to our development team to look into implementing this feature in the future. While I can't guarantee that it will be implemented, I recommend keeping our Shopify Changelog on hand to stay up to date with new features that roll out to the platform.

I too, am running a small brick & mortar business and can relate to EVERY comment you have posted in this group. I haven't done the actual migration yet - because I'm terrified to. It seems Shopify is way more concentrated on online selling and it's making me feel very antiquated. There are so many options that I will never use, and there seem to be even more that I really need, yet they aren't available. Keep posting your questions and concerns. You make me feel like I'm not alone!
I am honestly glad my posts are making you feel better. Thank you for saying so.
We are not antiquated - just doing a business model that can be a great way of doing business and life, and that we are correct in thinking would be accommodated by shopify as we were told it was the correct place to go from QB POS. I hope these posts and more voices explaining how in-person retail works will help the developers add features we need. We started with QBPOS when it was new (newish?) software in 2003 and it was also not as useful then as it is now. They listened to all of us when we told them what we needed.
Again, I totally agree. I started using QB POS in 2005.
