Access to developer

Hello, how do I give access to a developer to create my website? I am being told they need my login information. Will that give then access to all of my personal data? How do I go thru this process?

Don't give them your login information. Give them your collaborator's code: Shopify Help Center | Collaborator permissions 

Also, if he's asking for your login information, you should raise some red flags.
