Our client is pre-launching their site to select groups of customers. We currently have the password protection turned on to show a coming soon page, but we'd like to enable multiple different passwords to allow access to the site, not just the single password managed under Online Store > Preferences. Requirements are:
- The entire store is locked down, not just a specific collection, product or page.
- Different passwords can be used to grant access to the store
- We can track how many times each password is used so we know which event our pre-launch customers are coming from
- Each password redirects the customer to a specific collection after logging in (this is a nice-to-have, not required)
- Once they enter the password and are granted access to the site, they can access everything, nothing is off limits.
The client does not want to require account creation for site access, so using customer-specific passwords or tags isn't an option. All the apps I see require a customer account to exist to then manage their access. We want it to be a more generic access, where anyone with one of the passwords can access the site.
Any ideas if an app exists that can do what we're looking for? Or has anyone customized the Shopify password functionality to do something similar? Thanks!
