How to set up SSO using Shopify accounts

We are using Shopify Plus and the new customer account.
We have E-commerce site on Shopify and are planning to launch a new external service.
We would like to allow customers to log in to the external service using their Shopify accounts without creating accounts on the external service side.
Could you please advise on recommended Shopify API or methods to achieve this?

There are posts about the method of SSO using IDs of external services* on Shopify community,
but what we would like to achieve is SSO using Shopify accounts.
