Focuses on API authentication, access scopes, and permission management.
Our app, MapMy Channel (MMC), facilitates users in integrating multiple Shopify stores to streamline order management across all stores on a single platform. The installation process involves "users adding MMC from the Shopify App Store directly to their store". To incorporate additional stores within MMC, users are prompted to input the domain URL of the desired store.
We seek clarification on whether requesting the domain URL for adding a new store within the installed app aligns with Shopify's guidelines. We want to ensure compliance and seek guidance on the acceptability of this practice within the Shopify ecosystem.
Hi Webbeeuser,
Just to confirm - during the installation flow, do merchants need to enter their store URL? IE: the merchant can't install the MMC app without entering their store URL? If so, you may have issues passing the app store review, as installation should not require manual entering of a URL.

Hi Liam
No we are not asking URL for installation, But our app is having a feature of multi store integration, Once a customer installed our app from shopify to his store and he is having another store and our app allows him to integrate his secondary store too, But for the second integration of store we are asking URL, (it's not installing the app, we are integrating his another store within existing MMC app)
In that case, if the app is allowing for the management of another store, whether access to that store is authenticated correctly, then this should be okay.
