When creating a favicon, the ideal size is either 16x16 pixels or 32x32 pixels. If your image is too large, then Shopify will automatically reduce the image to 32x32 pixels when you upload it to your online store.

All Shopify themes have an option within the Theme Settings to add a favicon directly to your online store.
If you navigate to the Theme Editor by selecting Online store > Themes > Edit theme within your Shopify admin, you can select the theme settings towards the bottom left of the page to see the section titled Favicon. This will allow you to upload the image of your choice.
Once the image has been selected and uploaded, you can save the changes you have made and navigate back to your online store. You can now view the new favicon located on your browser tab.
