Add an invoice block on the Thank you page

Hello everyone,

I’m facing an issue following the depreciation of additional scripts on Shopify. Previously, I had a script that allowed me to add a download link for invoices directly on the "Thank You" page. However, it seems that accessing the order object is no longer possible on this specific page.

I need values such as the order ID or the name of the order to enable the invoice download. Currently, I have moved this functionality to the order status page, but I would prefer it to be on the "Thank You" page.

Does anyone know if it’s still possible to access the order object on the "Thank You" page, and if so, how can this be achieved? Otherwise, are specific app development or the use of pixels the only ways to reintegrate this functionality?

You can insert invoice download links on the "Thank You" page (also known as the Order Success page) by using theme app extensions.

Our Simple Invoice app is built with the latest technology and is compatible with all Shopify themes. You can install it from this link and activate the theme app extensions to add invoice download links to the "Thank You" page.

We have developed a transparent, secure, and honest app to support businesses that use Shopify. Simple Invoice operates purely through the Shopify API and does not store your order, customer, or product data on its servers. We neither track nor have any interest in the number of orders you receive each month.

Upon subscribing to the Free plan, you receive 50 invoices to print, send, or download for free within a month from your subscription date.

If—and only if—you exceed 50 invoices during this period, Simple Invoice charges a usage fee of $9.99 to your store. However, once this fee is charged, you gain access to unlimited invoices for the remainder of that month. This is made possible through Shopify's usage-based charge API.

Your 50-invoice limit resets every month. Therefore, if you are charged a usage fee one month, your limit will reset, and you will not incur any additional usage fees in the following month unless you exceed 50 invoices again.

In my testing, I used a "Checkout Blocks" app on a development store, which allowed me to add blocks to the order status, thank you, and checkout pages. However, when moving to production, this application was not available for download on my store with a non-Plus plan.
