Hello there Shopify team,

I would like to ask if it is possible to change the Sales Channel of an order when creating an order through the Order resource in the REST ADMIN API (https://shopify.dev/api/admin-rest/2021-10/resources/order#post-orders).

Our mutual customer (walls-by-me store) is getting this on her Sales Channel Analytics:

When we create an order through the API, it comes as Order Desk (as they are using the public app to access the REST ADMIN API).

We tried setting the "source_name" field on the order, but that only changes the source of the order and the Sales Channel Analytics still shows the name of the public app.

How do we change the name (and which field to set) so that when an order is created through the REST ADMIN API, it would appear as that when viewing through the Sales Channel Analytics?

Looking forward for your insights on this one and hoping you could help me out here. Thank you so much 🙂

Same issue here, it does transfer the order source but that's it..

Same issue a few months later .. guess it wasnt resolved? I want to change the channel after the order was created.
