Discussing APIs and development related to customers, discounts, and order management.
Hi,
I am reaching out to seek your assistance regarding some data issues we have encountered after migrating to the OrderFulfillmentAPI on our Shopify store. We greatly appreciate your support and expertise in resolving these matters. We migrated from version "2019-07" to "2023-01".
We have encountered discrepancies in order synchronization between our system and the Shopify platform. We are using the Order resource to fetch the order data and its related Customer resource with which we are experiencing data issues. Customer property "order_count" is set to "1" also for returning customers. This inconsistency has led to false identification of returning and new customers on the platform causing inconvenience for both our customers and our team.
We understand that migrating to a new API can sometimes introduce unforeseen issues, and we would be grateful for your guidance and support in troubleshooting these problems. Our team has thoroughly reviewed our integration and API implementation, and we believe the issues lie within the migration process itself.
To assist you in investigating these matters further, we have compiled a detailed list of specific instances where these data issues have occurred, along with relevant order and product information. We would be happy to share this information with you upon your request.
We kindly request your prompt attention to this matter as we are striving to provide the best possible shopping experience for our customers.
Thank you in advance,
Christian
Hi Christian,
Thanks for flagging this issue, I've gotten in touch with our API team to see if this is an known issue, and will update here when I learn more.
In the meantime, have you gotten in contact with Partner Support yet to share the specific instances you mentioned and relevant order and product information? If not, you can open a support interaction via the Support tab in your partner dashboard.
Hope this helps!
