Currency Issue

Hey,

I'm currently selling my products to the UK, in GBP, and decided to open a United States market for SEO visitors and etc...

I have a 40% discount on some of my products and the discount is active on the UK market and Internacional.

The things is that is not being applied on the US market. I already tried to change on the pricing of the market and etc, and didn't find anything.

Is it better just to add the United States to Internacional and activate local currency and I will be good? Or should I keep the US market alone? If yes, how can I apply the discounts on that market ?

Hi @COZYREST

I saw your question and totally get the issue you're facing. Since you already have a discount applied in the UK and International markets, but it's not working for the US market, here’s why this is happening and how to fix it.

Understanding the Issue

Shopify Markets allows you to set different pricing, discounts, and rules for different regions. However, discounts are not automatically applied across all markets unless you specifically set them for each one. Since the US market is separate from "International," the discount you set for the International market doesn’t carry over.

Solution

You have two options to fix this:

Option 1: Add the US to the International Market

  • If you don’t need different pricing strategies for the US, you can simply add it to the International Market.
  • Go to Settings > Markets, find the United States market, and merge it into your International Market.
  • Once merged, the discount you applied to International will also apply to the US.
  • Enable local currency pricing, so visitors from the US still see prices in USD.

🔹 Best if: You don’t need custom pricing for the US and want a simple setup.

Option 2: Keep the US as a Separate Market & Apply the Discount

  • If you want to keep the US separate (for tax, shipping, or pricing reasons), you need to manually apply the discount there.
  • Go to Discounts > Edit the discount > Market Availability
  • Ensure that the discount is enabled for the US Market (It may only be active for the UK and International).
  • If you’re using manual pricing in different markets, adjust the discount percentage accordingly under Markets > United States > Pricing.

🔹 Best if: You need custom pricing or separate market settings for the US.

Final Thought

If your goal is to keep things simple and apply the same discount everywhere, merging the US into the International market is the easiest fix. But if you need different pricing or settings for the US, you must enable the discount separately for that market.

Let me know if you need further clarification!

Daisy.
