Customers link their shopify store to mine

Hi,

I am in the middle of building out a shopify store and customers have been asking if they will be able to link their store to mine so that when their customer places an order for one of my items, the order will automatically come through to us and that the inventory will be updated automatically on their site.

Is this a standard Shopify behavior? Is this an add on? Can anyone provide insight as to what they are referring to?
