Dropshipping is a business model that lets you sell products by using a supplier.
I'm new to this, I've set up my store, imported products from DSers and changed the price from theirs to mine. When someone buys a product through me, the money goes to my store PayPal. How is the order placed through the wholesaler? Do I place the order using their information?
Hi there, @yourlittlecreat.
Generally speaking how dropshipping works is: Your customer places an order on your store > Your store automatically sends this order to the supplier > You pay the supplier > Supplier prepares and dispatches the order directly to your customer. Generally, this ordering process is done using an app like Spocket for example - this app allows for a simplified workflow between your store and the supplier - this is where the item is actually ordered, with the customer's address etc sent to the supplier. Are you using an app like this?
As you are new to dropshipping, I have this free online course that would be really worth having a look over. It walks through all aspects of running a successful dropshipping store, from choosing products to marketing. I think it's really worth checking out! I trust this helps, thank you.

Hi Ivy. Thank you very much for responding! I'm using DSers. I've imported products from them to my site. But as I was activating them I changed the price. This is the price they pay me, right? And then I will pay the retail price to DSers? That's the confusing part for me now.
So I assume that when a customer places an order through me they'll pay my price. Then through DSers app, I process the order and pay them. Then they'll process the order and ship it for me?
Thank you for the course link, it looks really useful!
Hi, @yourlittlecreat.
Thank you for following up!
You are absolutely correct! After importing the products from your supplier, you can determine the price for the products sold through your store. Customers will be paying your price, and you can fulfill the order by paying the supplier's pricing. Once the supplier has been paid, they will fulfill and ship the orders on your behalf. That being said, if you'd like to learn more about dropshipping, then we'd also recommend taking a look at this amazing guide: The Ultimate Guide to Dropshipping.
We'd love to hear more about your business! What types of products are you dropshipping? Also, have you started developing a marketing plan for your store?
