Dropshipping is a business model that lets you sell products by using a supplier.
Currently selling products purchased on Faire. Did a surgery and a lot of customers are saying my prices are too high. Went to Ali Baba and noticed that the same products are being sold at wholesale for much cheaper. But, I want to guarantee I’m still buying unique smaller business items versus items from mass manufacturers. Any advice?
Faire is great for sourcing unique, curated products from independent brands and small businesses, often with a boutique feel. The prices tend to be higher, but you're paying for originality and craftsmanship.
Alibaba offers much lower prices because you're buying from large-scale manufacturers, often overseas. However, the trade-off is that many of these products are mass-produced and less unique — so you risk selling items others already carry.
If you're looking for a balance between affordability and uniqueness, you might also want to explore platforms like Seebiz, a wholesale marketplace that connects you with verified suppliers, including smaller manufacturers and distributors. It’s a good middle ground if you want competitive pricing without sacrificing product variety or quality.
A smart strategy could be mixing sources: use Faire for standout items, Alibaba for budget-friendly stock, and platforms like Seebiz for bulk deals with trustworthy suppliers.
