We're thinking about expanding into postcard business and general merchandise. Tips? Advices?

We create amazing artwork for individuals and businesses. Now we want to get into the wholesale/dropshipping business by creating different merch, apparel, and greeting cards for different occasions. 

I was wondering if anybody from the community could share some tips and advice on wholesale/dropshipping? How to get the wholesale buyers/distributors? Any potential problems we can face and how to avoid them? 

We also want to sell our postcards in retail chains like Target, Walmart as well as grocery chains (e.g. Safeway/Albertsons). Tips on how we can make it there are highly appreciated. 

Oh, and the printing costs! Any good printing providers in the U.S. or is it better to use the ones overseas?

I recommend signing up with any POD suppliers who provide products as well as printing.
