Why do I have to go through all these steps on making sure I’m a authorized reseller if all the products are provided to put into my website??? And if I don’t do it then my whole shop will be shut down? Can someone help me

Hi there @Productions2!

While we're not able to answer legal queries at all here in Shopify, I can let you know that you would need to be permitted to sell any branded or copyrighted products or products that are the intellectual property of others.

If you'd like to know more about your legal requirements where you are, we would have to direct you to consult a qualified expert in your jurisdiction.

There's more info here on our help site on your obligations with regard to copyright and intellectual property when using Shopify, though again this does not constitute legal advice.

Could you tell me a little bit about the products you're looking to sell and who you're intending to sell to?

Hi there @angiew16!

Thanks for reaching out here in the Shopify Community to share your concern.

As we're not able to give legal advice from here in Shopify, you would need to consult a qualified legal expert in your jurisdiction to ensure you have the necessary permission to sell the products you are selling.

Check out the guide I shared above on copyright and intellectual property while using Shopify for some more context.

I'd refer you also to the Shopify Terms of Service you would have agreed to upon account creation, specifically Section 4 here on your responsibilities.

If you're able to confirm you have or can acquire whatever permission might be necessary to sell those products where you are then you can proceed as normal!
