SEO, AdWords, affiliates, advertising, and promotions
We have implemented the Meta pixel via Shopify integration (connected to Shopify via the Facebook & Instagram app).
We have tested the Pixel using Chrome extension "Meta Pixel Helper" and it shows that pixel is set up correctly and is recording events accurately (see screenshot)
However we are getting "Critical Issue" error in Meta >> Commerce Manager >> Catalog >> Events , where its shows that "We haven't received this event yet." (See screenshot)
Critical issues:
- AddToCart events weren't received in the last 7 days
Your pixel might not be sending events from your website. Check that it’s set up correctly.
- Purchase events weren't received in the last 7 days

In Meta >> DataSources >> DataSets :
the Meta Pixel already has "Assigned Asset" set to the Ads Account.
In Meta >> DataSources >> DataSets >> Pixel >> Events Manager :
the events are displaying correctly (see screenshot)
This is very bizarre and we are unable to figure out WHY this is happening and HOW to fix it.
Can anyone help?
Much appreciated!
Hi,
Have you tried facebook event setup tool to setup events?
No, I have not used the Facebook Event Setup tool, because I have implemented the Meta pixel via Shopify integration (via the Facebook & Instagram app).
The pixel is set up correctly and is recording events accurately (see screenshot)

So it seems strange that I would need to manually configure all the events again using Facebook Event Setup tool, even though they are being captured by the Pixel.
Hey DepotDesign,
I highly recommend using another facebook pixel app. There are a lot of apps that offer easier integration, more reliable data tracking, and enhanced privacy controls.
I recommend using Nabu: Facebook Pixel Tracking, it is completely free (look it up on the shopify app store). The app allows you to create pixels on their dashboard, allows the tracking of: Purchase, Add to Cart, Begin Checkout, very easy set up and can bypass iOs14+ restrictions.
Give it a go, and let me know if you need any help!

Hello Depotdesign,
Thanks for your query.
your facebook and Instagram app is not working anymore that's why pixel not receiving any event.
Lot of my clients face similar issues so they switch to Google Tag Manager to track e-commerce event data. It gives full control over sending data analytics from your website. You can use it to track multiple marketing platforms. Also, it is recommended by Google.
Let me know if you need to implement it.
