9-item requirement for instagram in app purchasing???

Hi there,

I was recently informed by a developer I'm working with that instagram now requires Shopify stores to include a minimum of 9 items in order to use the in-app purchasing feature/tag.

Can someone confirm:

(a) If this is true 

and 

(b) if there are any workarounds for this. 

I'm building a single product site and would like to use instagram in-app purchasing to market the product.
