A faster checkout page would be beneficial

Hi there,
There is a problem with my website that is negatively affecting my conversion rate and purchase rate. It seems like my checkout page is very slow, but I can't figure out why. Despite hiring people from different areas to fix it, they keep saying it's protected by Shopify and a very sensitive area due to security and payment issues.
Customer clicks on "proceed to checkout" from the cart page and the checkout process takes around 11 seconds. The website has so far not caused me any problems.
I would appreciate any help you can provide.

If the checkout page is loading significantly slower than the rest of your site, it's possible something is interfering with the 'proceed to checkout' button, potentially a tracking script or other custom code that has an error. The other possibility is that you have an app installed that modifies the Shopify checkout, and is causing the issue. If you do had an app that modifies checkout installed at any point, even if the app is currently uninstalled, there could be leftover code causing the checkout to load more slowly. If that's the case, only Shopify support would be able to confirm and assist, but it's unlikely they'd help unless the checkout is significantly slower than the rest of the site.

If you'd care to share the name of the website I'd be curious to take a look to see if there are any javascript errors causing the checkout to load more slowly.

Based on your description of the issue, I would recommend you to:

1. Check if you are using any app that can interfere with the cart and checkout page. You may remove them to test if removing the app can help increase the speed on the checkout page.
2. Contact your theme provider and ask them to check if there’s any possible cause for it
3. Check your checkout process on different devices and networks, and ask others to check with you as it could be related to a region-specific or local issue/network issue

Usually, the checkout page can load a bit slower for me than other pages, it usually takes around 3-5s, just a reference. And we can't customize the checkout page unless we are on the Plus plan.
