Adding a FREE shipping message to product pages

Hi There,

Just wondering whether there are any app that you would suggest that would allow me to add a message such as free shipping directly below or above the add to cart button on a product page?

I have a free shipping message in the top header banner of my page but would also love the ability to feature a message next to the add to cart button.

Would also be great if this could be customised for different countries.

Warmest,

Sarah

Hey Sarah,

I'm Alex, your friendly neighbourhood Guru at Shopify.

So it doesn't look like there's an app to add the message there specifically, but if there was, the installation of the code necessary to use that app would likely follow a similar process.

Here's a way you can try:

Head to Online Store => Themes => [...] => Edit HTML/CSS => short-form.liquid (in the Snippets folder, here's a link.

Somewhere in the area of line 40 of this file, you can add a snippet saying something like this:

<p>Free shipping!</p>

Note that your theme is third party, so my help here is quite limited, but that's a good general direction to take outside of contacting the theme developer directly. Hope it helps!

All the best.

Thanks so much for the responses 🙂

WhiteWater Web, we actually have a list of things we want done. I already have a free shipping banner along the top of the site but think this may be missed as it is at the very top of the page and some people probably ignore this or may miss it.

Cool. Nice looking store by the way - great job.

There are some free apps that will do what you want (allowing for positioning, 'almost there'... incentives, etc.); there are then some extremely powerful, paid app's you can use to do this - they offer a lot of different settings, triggers, and customization options. Recently we used both (in different ways) to push sales for clients in last weekend's big holiday push (Black Friday, Cyber Monday).

Hit us up by email if you have any more questions (info AT whitewatersolutions.com)!

Cheers!

Still need a hand, Sarah? Did you try any of the app's out - we can suggest a customization of a few good ones that have worked well for our clients (notify bars, etc.).

Cheers!

Hi

Is it something like this that you are looking for?

https://noneoftheabovelondon.com/collections/knitwear/products/made-in-england-chunky-cable-knit-jum...

https://noneoftheabovelondon.com/collections/shirts-1/products/knitted-button-through-polo-shirt

Running on Brooklyn theme. put in price based ruling on product template liquid last night

Just need to build in Country rules so I can get the messaging to change depending upon where the user is browsing the site from

Thanks. There is always a logical solution.

So mud has development work can be done off the line of code. Do you know of Shopify has a shipping API?

As suggested Sarah, you can do this for free. Adding a static "Free Shipping" message will help.

We have an app which was recently featured in the App store. It will allow you to state Free Shipping but you can add some other elements like and order cutoff time and even an estimated delivery date. These are great bits of information to have because if a customer seeks them and can't find them easily, they hit that back button. If you approach the issue face on and put that information right under the add to cart, you are giving them all the more reason to click that button. The beauty of it is the increase in conversions you get will most likely more than cover the cost of the app. You can check out the app here: https://apps.shopify.com/delivery-timer

Hi, just wondering how you actually added that code to the product template. And how does it know to change. I wanted my items to display the banner of "Free Shipping" only when items are between 0 & 1kg. I am using weight based rulings.

This way they can see that it is free shipping as they view the product, instead of waiting until checkout to discover it is free shipping.

Really appreciate it if you could reveal your secrets 🙂

I'm sure you have found a work around by now. But here is an easy way to do it for others that are looking without an app.

Go to online store

to themes

to customize theme

to edit language

to products page

to last line where it says "shopping policy html"

enter Free Shipping

@ShopTime2 this is a great suggestion and I found it would work if you wanted ALL of your product pages to display the same message.  I'm trying to figure out how to do this for individual product pages.  Is there easy code to add that will show 'free shipping' on select products?

@ShopTime2  do you mean shipping policy html?

Yes,

This works on the debut theme, I can't speak for the others.   Go to online store to themes to customize theme to edit language to products page to last line where it says "shopping policy html" enter Free Shipping...

Hi brikhous,

If you need to set up different delivery message for different products, I think you may want to try this app:

https://apps.shopify.com/estimated-delivery-time-pro

With this app, you can display delivery info in product/cart/check out/order status/email page.

Thank you so much for this guide and explaining it in a simple way. I just  followed your walkthrough and it worked. It took me less than a minute to do too

Hi there,

could you please be more specific about how and where exactly to add the text?

I tried several ways but didn't work:

{%- if shop.taxes_included or shop.shipping_policy.body != blank -%}
<div class="product__policies rte small--text-center">
<small>
{%- if shop.taxes_included -%}
{{ 'products.product.include_taxes' | t }}
{%- endif -%}
{%- if shop.shipping_policy.body != blank -%}
{{ 'products.product.shipping_policy_html' | t: link: shop.shipping_policy.url }}
{%- endif -%}
</small>
</div>
{%- endif -%}
