I just closed down my shopify store. At least for now. I got the lite version and paid the $9.99 and was never able to link a facebook page to the store. Whatever exactly that is. I asked for help and no one was able to help me set things up. I think I opened to store too soon. And just wasn't ready to get things going. IS the regular $29 store much better? I don't know anything about "themes" or setting up a website. Am I going to have to do all this. I would rather concentrate or selling and the marketing tools.

Hold on budd. any shopify expert will get back to you soon. or else why don't you contact their customer care? Discuss about the issue of linking FB page. They will surely give you solution.

They did try to help me with the lite store. I already tried what they suggested and I asked for other options they the person I talked to anyway said they didn't know what was wrong. I left it at that anyway.  Anyway,

"The store was opened too soon",

and the store was closed, yours is a moot point. Thanks anyway. Perhaps the lite store isn't as well or has as much support as the regular store. Maybe there would've been someone else they could've directed me to.

The regular store is much better IMO as you can do so much more with it. There is so much information both on the Shopify help pages and on Youtube that you don't have to be afraid of starting and building your own store - BUT if you are not willing to do the work to treat it as an actual business then I think you are better off being an employee of another business.

If you don't "know anything about themes or setting up a website" then what makes you want to start an e-commerce store? The passion has to be there, or else what's the point?

There, I guess would be the "passion".  The lite versions doesn't have a webstore. A webstore isn't necessary for ecommerce. Anyway I will continue to learn these things and everyone says it takes time. Sometimes people have to do this several times I have heard. I guess there's some kind of "passion" there or something.

If you don't want to do themes or set up the store, why not just outsource the development to a local web designer. Or even better yet, just use facebook store and amazon FBA

I thought that was done with the lite version. Everything is through
facebook. Via shopify. The analytics and things was what I was wanting
to learn. Product lines and such. The technical things was where I was
having some kind of trouble. I tried too another browser. It worked a
bit better but I ran into problems again. Oh I will figure something out
I guess. But what I was really wondering is is there anyone who has
tried but lite and the regular store; if so what is there opinion on the
two.
