Analytics for Shopify's email platform?

We have used Mailchimp for our newsletters all these years. I see that Shopify's email program is easy to use and has several smart features.

The lack of statistics is a big problem. For example, I miss being able to see which links the recipient is clicking on. Or who recipients open the newsletters, and how many times they opens it. A lot of this I think is very elementary for this service. Why is it not included?

Is it possible for me to get information about this in other ways (from Google analytics, Hotjar, other apps?)

Hi, @Unaas

Tira here, from Shopify.

Thank you for your feedback, there are some analytics and tracking that you can use in Shopify Email.

Shopify Email has open tracking enabled by default. Open tracking allows you to see how many emails are opened when they are sent out using Shopify Email. These numbers will show up in the report section of each campaign you send with Shopify Email. Open tracking will show the number of emails that have been opened but not which of the recipients opened the email.

You can also see how many subscribers have clicked on a link. For a list of statistics you can view in your report for Shopify Email, steps to enable/disable open tracking, and answers to some questions about open rate, you can check out our help doc here: Email tracking and analytics

I recommend using an email marketing app from the Shopify App Store if you’re looking for more click and open rate statistics.

I would also be happy to forward your feedback up to our developers so that they are aware of what would help you and all of our merchants succeed in your business.

To help me understand more of what you’re looking for and why it’s important to you, could you tell me more about what impact this had for you and your business when you saw the statistics for recipients who opened your emails? What about for the links that were being clicked on? Are there certain products that you need to keep track of?

I’m looking forward to hearing from you,
