What are everyones (who are making 3+ sales per day) actual conversion rates once a user has added to their cart? Mine seems to be low. If I average 100 ATC I am getting about 25-40 checkouts initiated and about 4-6 actual sales.
I am wondering if there is something causing conversions to be less or if its site load time etc... I feel as though the load time from the cart page to checkout page is pretty slow on shopify.
Are you saying that 24-40 actually click 'checkout' button (not add to cart), and of those only 4-5 actually place an order? Or that 24-50 add to cart?
For us we currently average about 35% of visitors who view a product page, 2.5% of visitors add to cart, about 1.7% actually check out, and about 1.1% end up placing an order. Of course desktop conversion rates are better than mobile. We have been at this for many years with way more than 3 order a day, and rarely get about 1.5-2% conversion rate.
Hi there,
Check out this article by Shopify on how to reduce shopping cart abandonment with some nice tips that you might find useful:
The article states a cart abandonment rate of 77.3%. I also find this to be a useful source for cart abandonment rates https://baymard.com/lists/cart-abandonment-rate, where the range is somewhere between 60-80% and average 70%.
Compared to those rates, your rates are indeed somewhat low.
Conversion rate also depends on which industry you are catering. Please confirm
Just saw your website
The product design is unique. loved it. The Jurassic croc multi tool will sell good regarding apparel I am little skeptical.
Regarding Apparel - https://viceanviltactical.com/collections/apparel-accessories/products/vice-anvil-bold-t-shirt
i would suggest keep just the logo in front and below that allow people to write their name and on the back allow people to mention their message.
I am not sure why will a user buy with the logo and website name and the message behind the sweatshirt.
Also on the product details pages example below
https://viceanviltactical.com/collections/everyday-carry-gear/products/jurassic-croc-multi-tool
the description is way down (there is lot of gap in between please correct this) and the formatting is not the same on all the pages.
I see one promo on the above page - Add 2 to your cart, get one for 25% off! mention this is top promo area
On about page - https://viceanviltactical.com/pages/about-us the formatting of product listing is different as compared to the home page or other listing page (where products are listed)
Stickers i think you can give in your promo instead of charging which can create more brand awareness in the market.

There could be many reasons causing your abandoned shopping cart rate including your niche, website, and traffic.
Getting 5 sales out of 25 checkouts initiated isn't too bad of a conversion rate, but I think you may be able to find a few things that could streamline your processes.
Here are some guides that could help you:
Shopping Cart Optimization
Shopping Cart Abandonment
Abandoned Cart Emails
I would suggest following the tips in those guides if you haven't already.
I will especially recommend that you set up abandoned cart emails and find a solution to capture the visitor's email as soon as possible so that you can send out these emails.
