SEO, AdWords, affiliates, advertising, and promotions
I've been running a Woocommerce site for my company for over 6 years, and have 6 years of Google analytics data. I'm moving to Shopify and I would like to use the same analytics property for the new shop.
Does anyone know the best way to make the switch so that the analytics are uninterrupted?

Hi Xnau,
Switch is pretty simple. Just put the UA code into the backend of Shopify. Online Store > Settings > Preferences
That will bring across your traffic. If you click enhanced eCommerce tracking in Shopify and turn that on in GA (Admin > Ecommerce Setting > Turn on Enable Ecommerce and Enhanced Ecommerce Reporting) you'll get all the standard events, transactions and revenue etc.
If you have specific events you want to track, like say page scroll percentage or submit an email for newsletter, you need to set these up (usually using Google Tag Manager and GA events).
HOWEVER, major work of warning. Make sure you so an SEO migration when moving from another platform to Shopify. If you're not sure of what that starts researching it. You'll be very glad you did! If you don't you'll lose all your SEO traffic that doesn't go to your home page (bad).

thanks very much, I guessed that was what I needed to do, but wanted to make sure that there wasn't something I was missing.
I've learned that I will need to set up a redirect map so all my old pages will get new URLs, yes, that is going to be a lot of work!
Sure is, but worth it. Most brands don't do it then see a massive drop in traffic and sales.
