Yes, it is possible to track sales specifically from Google Analytics 4 (GA4) or Universal Analytics (UA) in Shopify. Follow the below steps.
1. Connect your Shopify store to Google Analytics
First, you need to connect your Shopify store to your Google Analytics account. To do this, go to your Shopify dashboard, click on "Online Store" in the left-hand menu, and then click on "Preferences." Scroll down to the "Google Analytics" section and enter your GA4 or UA tracking ID.
2. Set up goals in Google Analytics
Once your Shopify store is connected to Google Analytics, you can set up goals to track specific actions, such as purchases. To set up a purchase goal, go to your GA4 or UA account, click on "Admin" in the bottom left corner, and then click on "Goals" under the "View" column. Click on the "New Goal" button and select "Custom" as the goal type. Give your goal a name (such as "Purchase"), select "Destination" as the type, and enter the URL of your order confirmation page as the destination.
3. Track goal completions in Shopify
Finally, you can track goal completions in Shopify by creating a custom conversion event. To do this, go to your Shopify dashboard, click on "Settings" in the bottom left corner, and then click on "Checkout." Scroll down to the "Order Processing" section and click on "Create custom conversion event." Give your event a name (such as "Purchase"), select "Google Analytics" as the provider, and enter the same goal ID that you set up in step 2.
By following these steps, you should be able to track sales specifically from GA4 or UA in Shopify, and measure the effectiveness of your marketing efforts in driving purchases.

Hey @KCP1, just trying to understand your question better so I can help. GA4 and UA are not traffic sources; they are analytics tools that measure traffic, conversion, and sales. Are you asking how to use GA4 to differentiate sales by visitors who came from Google vs non-Google sources?
If yes, try the following:
If you're looking to see your overall purchases broken down by traffic source, you can do this using the Free Form exploration report in GA4. If you need help with that, feel free to ask.
The most important thing here is to tag your links using UTM codes; otherwise GA4 will mark your traffic from Facebook, LinkedIn, email, etc. as (direct) / (none). Here's an article on how to use UTM codes to measure your traffic from non-Google sources.
If this wasn't your question and I misunderstood, please reply and I'll revise the answer 🙂
