Can I start a business with a debit card instead of a credit card?

Hi, Im 16 years old and I want to start my business now in order to gain experience as a entrepreneur so that it’ll be easier to make money once I’m 18. I also work part time at a restaurant right now. It says that you’ll need a credit card to start a business in Shopify but will a debit card work?

Technically, Noooooo!

You will need at least a debit card to pay for the monthly fee on Shopify and most dropshipping suppliers require a debit/credit on file to process your orders.

I've run a seven-figure agency just fine using a debit card. Never had an issue. I believe they are interchangeable. As long as it's Visa or Mastercard, you won't have a problem. If you do well and grow your store(s) as you push spend through your card, swap to a credit card as you can rake up a good amount of points.
